‘Inside Out’ Breaks Record For Opening Weekend For An Original Film

Inside Out earnt $90.44m over its debut frame. That set a number of records, including the biggest weekend to not top the box office, the fourth-biggest animated debut ever (behind Shrek the Third, Toy Story 3, and Shrek 2), and the fifth-biggest female-centric debut behind the first three Hunger Games films and Twilight parts 2, 4, and 5.

The $90.44m debut of Pixar’s Inside Out broke another record, one set by James Cameron’s Avatar. Inside Out snagged the biggest opening weekend in history for a wholly original movie.
